Sprouting Workshops at YOUR Home


Four Season Greens of Muskoka produces micro-greens and sprouts, plus sprouting resources. Steve & Sharon Bacon’s extensive research and experimentation in sprouting, wheatgrass production, aquaponics, and the nutrition of living foods provides the backdrop for their engaging and fun workshops.

Workshop length: 2 hours

PURPOSE: To present the “how’s” and “why’s” of sprouting and sprouted foods in an informal, inter-active, and multi-faceted workshop.

PRESENTERS: Steve & Sharon Bacon of Four Season Greens, local micro-greens and sprouts producers

PROCEDURE:
1. 30 min. power point presentation. Attendees will learn:
• why sprouts are considered superfoods;
• the health-promoting benefits of living foods and especially sprouted foods;
• how food traditions of various ancient cultures were rooted in living foods, contrasting with modern food production
2. Sprouted food demonstrations and samples:
• lots of tasty sprouted food samples, such as Sprouted Sunflower Seed Hummus, sprouted multi-grain and vegetable crackers, garlic sprouts, spring salad sprouts, almond milk, wheatgrass and living sprout salad.
• Participants will learn how to create several of these food ideas;
• Take-home recipes will be provided.
3. Demonstration of basket sprouting technique:
• Attendees will learn how to grow their own sprouts at home, using the basket sprouters, which are available for purchase.
4. Q & A

Sprouting resources and books will be available for purchase.

Cost: $15 per person, $20 per couple
includes seminar, many food samples and recipes
$100 minimum charge
