Press Release

SAVOUR Muskoka Members Food and Wine Pairing Events
June 2, 2009 – Bracebridge, ON

SAVOUR Muskoka members are always looking at ways to increase the marketability of our local food product offering. One way is through wine and food pairings. Executive Chef David Friesen of Riverwalk Restaurant and Executive Chef Randy Spencer at Spencer Tall Trees are hosting this type of event in the month of June.

On Saturday June 6th 2009, Executive Chef Randy Spencer will have Amazing Food Pairings consisting of local B.B.Q Treats, Dim Sum Station, Smoked Fish, Sushi from “Wabora” & Seafood Table, Artisan Cheeses, to be paired with over sixty wines from winery’s that include; Fielding Estate Winery, Cave Spring Cellars, The Vine, TWC Imports, Groupe Soliel Fine Wines, Lailey Vineyards, Malivoire Wines, Stem Wine Group, to name a few! Proceeds in support of ‘The Table Soup’.

On Friday June 26th Riverwalk’s Proprietor/Executive Chef, David Friesen, will source out only the best local ingredients to create a sumptuous gourmet dinner that is not to be missed. This diner will be paired with wines of Cave Spring Cellars and moderated by Cave Spring Cellar Winemaker, Angelo Pavan.

An excellent way to highlight what our region has to offer is to pair it with wines that compliment flavours and textures. Having chef’s pair local offerings with world class wines is an excellent way to do this. SAVOUR Muskoka, a FedNor initiative with an initial grant from the Trillium Foundation, offers diverse culinary experiences that include wine and food to Field to fork experiences.
